H & H Dog Food was born out of a personal journey to provide better nutrition for pets. When owner Jacqueline faced difficulties with her dog, Hunter, who reacted negatively to traditional kibble, she made the switch to a raw food diet—and the transformation was extraordinary. Recognizing that quality pet food often comes with a steep price tag, she aimed to offer affordable alternatives without compromising on nutrition.
Since starting to sell dog food in 2018, H & H Dog Food has quickly become a trusted source for pet owners in the region. As the first distributor for Courtlyn Custom in the Peace area, Jacqueline blazed a trail that has inspired others, with two more distributors emerging from her network of satisfied customers and their families. H & H Dog Food proudly sources its products from a small family-owned company, with ingredients sourced entirely from Canada, ensuring quality and reliability.
With a keen eye for her customers’ needs, Jacqueline goes above and beyond to assist those facing dietary issues with their pets. Whether it’s keeping track of specific food requirements or offering advice on nutritional concerns, she is dedicated to ensuring that her community’s furry friends receive the best care possible. H & H Dog Food serves a wide area, including Hudson’s Hope, Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, and Chetwynd, with plans to expand into Prince George.
Meet the Owner: Jacqueline Burkitt
Jacqueline Burkitt is the passionate owner of H & H Dog Food, driven by her love for animals and a desire to improve the lives of pets in her community. Her journey began with her own dog, Hunter, who suffered adverse reactions to commercial kibble. After switching to raw food and witnessing a remarkable change in Hunter’s health, she knew she had to share this solution with other pet owners.
Having spent over a decade interested in the pet food industry, Jacqueline took the leap to become a distributor in 2018. With the support of Courtlyn Custom, she established H & H Dog Food as a local go-to for raw pet nutrition. As a testament to her dedication and expertise, two additional distributors have since launched, inspired by her work and commitment to the community.
In addition to providing high-quality, Canadian-sourced dog food, Jacqueline is passionate about sharing knowledge. She collaborates with her customers to ensure their pets receive optimal nutrition and offers guidance in partnership with a customer pursuing pet nutritionist training. Her commitment extends to crafting homemade dog treats using the very food she sells, showcasing her belief in quality and care for furry companions.
Based in Hudson’s Hope, Jacqueline actively serves surrounding communities and is always looking to expand her reach to help more pets live healthy, happy lives.
