The Old Soul is a small, family-run business in the heart of Hudson’s Hope, created with the vision of bringing a slower, more mindful way of living to the community. Since opening its doors on December 14, 2025, The Old Soul has quickly become a welcoming space where visitors can relax, connect, and leave feeling a little lighter and more grounded.

With a strong focus on community, The Old Soul supports local artisans and small businesses by offering a curated selection of handmade goods, vintage treasures, and boho-inspired, preloved clothing. Beyond retail, the space is also a creative hub—hosting regular art and wellness classes, as well as providing a beautiful, intimate setting available for private rentals and gatherings.

Blending creativity, connection, and calm, The Old Soul offers a unique experience that feels like stepping back into a simpler time—where everything is made with care, and every visit brings a touch of magic.

Meet the Owner: Catherine Herbison

Catherine began her journey in hairdressing, where she discovered a deep passion for helping people feel confident, cared for, and beautiful. That love for her craft stayed with her, even as she stepped away from her career to raise her three children. During those years, her focus was entirely on her family, embracing the role of motherhood fully.

When her youngest was born during COVID, she found herself needing something that was just for her—something creative to help lift her out of a difficult season and reconnect with herself. That’s when she taught herself macramé. What started as a personal outlet soon grew into something more. She began setting up at local markets, where she found a welcoming community of like-minded artists and makers. Her booth quickly became more than a place to sell her work—it became a whole vibe, reflecting her creativity and personality.

That momentum opened the door to something bigger. Catherine was given the opportunity to expand into a quaint storefront in Hudson’s Hope, and at the same time, she returned to her first passion: hairdressing. Bringing these worlds together felt natural. She has always been drawn to creating spaces where people can slow down, feel seen, and take time for themselves. Combining crafting, hairstyling, and hosting small gatherings became a clear and meaningful vision.

With the support of her incredibly talented husband, Jason, they brought that vision to life and built Old Soul together. What they created is more than just a business—it’s a space filled with heart, creativity, and intention.

Old Soul has become a place not only for her family to enjoy, but also for the community she loves. It’s a space where people can feel welcome, inspired, and truly cared for—a reflection of everything she values and the journey that brought her here.
